Last night, the Ankeny High School auditorium transformed into a sun-drenched Greek island, as the school’s production of Mamma Mia! delivered a performance brimming with energy, heart, and ABBA-infused joy. Under the adept guidance of Student Director Kyle Jorgensen and Stage Manager Olivia Harris, the show was a testament to the remarkable talent and dedication of the student body.
A Stellar Cast Brings the Story to Life
Alexis Haxeng captivated audiences as Dana, portraying the character’s strength and vulnerability with a commanding presence. Lilian Monthei’s portrayal of Sophie was both spirited and heartfelt, her vocals soaring in numbers like „I Have a Dream“ and „Honey, Honey.“
The trio of potential fathers added depth and charm to the narrative. Jett Tyler’s Bill exuded rugged charisma, Luca Fratella’s Harry brought endearing warmth, and Julien Zubrandt’s Sam delivered a nuanced performance that resonated with the audience.
Evee Gadee, as one of the vivacious nightclubbers, infused the stage with infectious energy, particularly during ensemble numbers like „Dancing Queen“ and „Voulez-Vous.“
