We stumbled through the gates of Valhalla, soaked to the bone by a deluge that would’ve made Noah himself question his maritime abilities. The rain, relentless and unforgiving, painted the scene with a madness only matched by the chaos unfolding within the venue.
Arriving early, parched and primed for the night’s debauchery, we found refuge at the bar, where the keepers of liquid sanity welcomed us with open arms, blissfully unaware of our true purpose. Mistaken for cohorts of the bands to come, we played along, relishing in the cloak of anonymity that shrouded our intentions.
As the minutes stretched into eternity, drowning in a sea of libations, the first act emerged from the shadows. The Bravo Uniform Mikes , a duo hailing from the local lands of Wellington, took the stage with a thunderous roar that shook the very foundations of Valhalla. Their opening salvo, a rendition of „Tequila,“ served as a shot of adrenaline straight to the heart, igniting a frenzy among the gathered throng.
With a repertoire spanning both original compositions and covers plucked from the annals of musical history, B.U.M.S unleashed a sonic assault that transcended the confines of time and space. From the haunting strains of Cash’s „Folsom Prison Blues“ to the blistering fury of Hendrix’s guitar, each note reverberated through the venue, electrifying the senses and stirring the soul.
The crowd, a writhing mass of bodies pulsating with raw energy, hung on every riff, every beat, every word uttered by the enigmatic duo. Their fervor, fueled by a potent cocktail of adrenaline and alcohol, reached a fever pitch, threatening to consume all in its path.
As the final chords echoed into the night, leaving a trail of sonic destruction in their wake, the audience erupted in a cacophony of cheers and applause, a testament to the raw power and undeniable talent of B.U.M.S. And as we stumbled into the darkness, our senses ablaze and our spirits soaring, we knew that tonight, in the hallowed halls of Valhalla, we had witnessed something truly extraordinary
